In celebration of World Bamboo Day! BAMBUHAY in partnership BPI Foundation, Inc. planted 38,000 Bamboo's through the collaborative efforts of BPI employees in Pantabangan Carranglan Watershed Forest Reserve through Lakbay Luntian initiative as part of BPI 170th-anniversary celebration. Through this project, we provided sustainable livelihood to 17 families of Indigenous People former slash and burn farmers and charcoal makers,increase their monthly income above minimum wage from below 3,000.000. This initiative is also in partnership with Ayala Corporation ’s Kasibulan Project, a long-term program on reforestation and forest protection. Project Kasibulan intention to mitigate its GHG Emission while contributing to the national re-greening project of the country. Going beyond tree-planting, Project Kasibulan is Ayala's group-wide, nationwide reforestation and forest protection initiative. Bamboo, which is considered today as the “green gold,” is one of the fastest-growing renewable resources in the world—not only a sustainable alternative to wood, but also an effective climate change solution.
