What does it mean to have a Reggio-inspired program? The Reggio Emilia philosophy is an approach to teaching, learning and advocacy for children. It was created by Loris Malaguzzi, an inspirational education in the 1940's. In its most basic form: ⭐It is a way of observing what children know, are wondering about and what challenges them. ⭐Teachers record these observations to reflect on appropriate ways to help children expand their academic and social potentials. ⭐Long term projects connect core academic areas in and out of the classroom. We use the term "inspired" because the children, families and teachers of Playworks offer a different culture, location and perspective than that in Reggio Emilia in Northern Italy. Stay tuned to learn more about our unique curriculum approach and how we have adapted this to online learning.
