A surplus of tomatoes at the onset of the CoVid-19 pandemic has given local farmers the initiative to come up with new ways to make use of excess produce. The Department of Agriculture-Batanes Experiment Station (DA-BES) was able to make tomato jam from homegrown tomatoes. Ms. Ladylyn Horca from DTI Batanes invites us to try DA-BES’ tangy and sweet tomato jam, which pairs well with queso on a sandwich or crackers. You can also add the jam to salads, soups, and even cheesecake! Anong fruit jam or jellies ang nasa pantry niyo? I-flex mo na ‘yan ngayong Friday! Post it using the hashtag, #FlexPHridays! LISTEN LOCAL, READ LOCAL, WATCH LOCAL, DRINK LOCAL, EAT LOCAL, WEAR LOCAL, TRAVEL LOCAL, BUY LOCAL, GO LOKAL!
