Shangri-La at the Fort /
Posted 2 years ago

This year, because of the pandemic many people will be unable to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival under the same roof. So at Shangri-La we want to help evoke the true meaning of this festive holiday and give recognition and support to those who continue to be impacted by separation. We want to share some of the inspiring stories from our dedicated team members, whose talent and creativity help deliver each Shangri-La guest experience. Today we focus on our service manager for Kerry Sports Manila - Jonathan Camus: "I belong to a big family of 6 and growing up, we made it a family tradition go on staycations. Shangri-La was always my family’s first choice. When the pandemic happened, I had to stay inhouse among the colleagues in the operational bubble. In one of my video calls with the family, my niece - Sofia asked "Tito Jon, why are you staying at the hotel and how come you didn't take us with you?!" At that moment, I shed a tear and I realized how much and how long this pandemic has kept our family apart. I told her “When things get better, we will stay in the hotel together just like before”. Her smile gave me much hope. I look forward to the day that we’ll all be reunited again. For now, I will strengthen my resolve to be more resilient to get through this crisis."
