Professor Mike Tipton tells us going into cold water is stressful but in a good way! Our bodies actually respond to this stress in a way that benefits us. Not only does it prime our immune system to help us fight illnesses like colds, but our bodies also react to better deal with other stresses. Cold water immersion has seen positive effects on Alzhiemer's, depression and diabetes, along with feeling more awake anf alert in our day-to-day.
