The National Museum of the Philippines was graced this afternoon by the visit of His Excellency Marat Pavlov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Philippines. In a meeting with Director-General Jeremy Barns and his management team, Ambassador Pavlov expressed his desire to initiate partnerships between the NMP and cultural institutions in Russia. The two recounted the long-standing connection between the two countries including the interest of Russians in Philippine linguistics which date back to the early days of the establishment of the Soviet Republic in the early 20th century. He was accompanied by the cultural attaché of the Russian Embassy in Manila, Ms. Nina Prakapovich and they ended their visit with a tour of the National Museum of Fine Arts.
