The #NationalMuseumPH takes part in the national celebration of Women’s Month this March, spearheaded by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW). Over the last five years, the NMP has been firm in its commitment to #GenderEquality and #WomenEmpowerment as evidenced by its women employees serving in various capacities. Capping the 6-year theme “WE Make CHANGE Work for Women”, this year’s celebration focuses on the sub-theme “Agenda ng Kababaihan, Tungo sa Kaunlaran”. This year also poses a thought-provoking question: Did WE Make CHANGE Work for WOMEN? And what better way to answer this question than with the slogan #CHANGE, through “Compassionate, and Harmonized Actions and Networks for Gender Equality” that is definitely more proactive and sustainable. The National Museum of the Philippines expresses its unwavering support to the agenda of the PCW to further uphold its mission of creating an enabling environment for government and other stakeholders to be more responsive in achieving gender equality and empowerment of all women and girls. In these more challenging times, our #Juanas must be empowered to create strong societal impact and to stir positive change on matters affecting not only their lives, but the lives of their respective communities, and our nation, as a whole. Likewise, as public servants and active advocates and supporters of gender equality and women empowerment principles, we, at the NMP shall be more steadfast in addressing significant gender issues and realizing an inclusive and unified pursuit of attaining fruition to make #CHANGE work for Women. Salute to all Juanas!
