A laser cutter is a fabrication tool that uses powerful laser beams capable of producing intricate parts. It is a non-contact, thermal-based production process perfect for prototyping. There are a lot of advantages to laser cutting. It is highly precise, accurate, and has a high production speed making it a cheap and easy way of making things. The laser cutter at the Makerspace is capable of cutting soft materials such as wood, acrylic and cardboard.
