The National Museum of the Philippines ran a successful series of activities in celebration of National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week (July 17-23, 2022). Our observance this year kicked off with a workshop on etiquette for interacting with persons with disabilities in the museums and galleries attended by select NMP frontline staff from all over the country. This activity which was facilitated in coordination with the National Council for Disability Affairs is in keeping with our commitment to a more accessible and equitable museum for everyone. We also welcomed our guests from AKKAP (Abot-Kamay ng mga may Kapansanan ang Pag-unlad ng Pasigueño) PWD Santolan for a special guided tour and storytelling activity. Our special thanks to Undersecretary Penelope Belmonte of National Anti-Poverty Commission and Ms. Rebecca J. Fuellos, Head/Chief of Programs, Children International Philippines, Inc. for their support in this activity. As we join everyone in the campaign to create safe and responsive spaces for the empowerment of the differently-abled members of our community, we are inviting you to come and visit your #NationalMuseumPH. Admission is FREE!
