AsiaPOP Comic Con 2018 or APCC 2018 has cemented its status as the major comic book and pop culture convention here in the country. Evident in their faces, the pop culture fans had an awesome experience last July 27-29, 2018 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay, mainly because of these 5 cool stuff that happened:

Showcased at this year's APCC was The Netflix Hall, which featured replicas of iconic locations and props from some of Netflix's popular shows for pop culture fans to enjoy and take pictures. A mini Chinatown was featured, as well as a cool broken wall alongside a wrecked car setup, for Iron Fist fans to take their own photos with. There was also an enticing live performance by Josie and the Pussycats inside Riverdale's Pop’s Diner, right beside where you could take your own Riverdale High School Photo. The Palace Arcade from Stranger Things was also there wherein you could play classic retro arcade video games from the 80's.

Netflix led this year’s APCC with their shows, Iron Fist and Luke Cage - bringing in the leads from their respective shows. Finn Jones and Mike Colter, the Iron Fist and Luke Cage themselves, graced their fans here in the Philippines. The fans of the shows had a treat with a panel interview of Finn, Mike, together with their showrunners Raven Metzner and Cheo Hodari Coker, where they answered questions about the existing season and the next and upcoming ones.

As the panel interview of Finn Jones and Raven Metzner came to a close, Finn Jones revealed that Jessica Henwick, his co-star, sent him a message for the fans here in the Philippines since she was not able to make it to the event. With her video message, she claimed that Finn and Raven had something more for their APCC fans. The two then revealed that they will be premiering the first episode of Iron Fist season 2 right after the panel! APCC goers were delighted as Marvel Netflix premiered the episode here in the country for the first time anywhere!

APCC attendees get to test out their gaming skills at the Cignal channel Play Action Arena eSports mini tournament. They can choose which game to play from games like DoTA 2, Marvel vs Capcom Infinite, Street Fighter, and Tekken 7.

From the day it was teased, this toy became highly coveted by local Funko pop collectors. The limited edition Jollibee Funko Pop was first released at APCC 2018, where convention goers could buy up to 2 items per person. Not long after it was released, the stock was gone like how I fast can down a Chickenjoy Meal (which is very fast I swear)

There were a lot of other factors, features, and moments that made this year’s Asia Pop Comic Con a huge success. Pop Culture fans were delighted and amazed with all the awesome stuff they get to experience during the event.
