Their fluffy, wobbly, and yummy! Japanese soufflé pancakes are taking social media by storm, becoming one of the must-try eats for the foodies this year.
So what exactly is a soufflé pancake and why it suddenly became a trend? The French word means "to inflate" which is why soufflés are fluffier and airier unlike the typical pancakes. They’re loaded with more egg whites which give them that airy spongy form.
Soufflé pancakes made waves in Japan and other neighboring countries including Hong Kong and Taiwan. Luckily, they’re now available locally so we don’t have to travel far to taste these goodies!
