As much as we want to experience White Christmas in the country, we only could hope for cold nights and dazzling light shows. Luckily, Baguio is just a few hours away from Manila and it’s the best place to spend the holidays if we really want to enjoy the cold ber months weather. Imagine waking up to a foggy morning, sipping on freshly brewed coffee, and taking a walk outdoors surrounded with pine trees and flowers – the recipe of a best holiday trip.

Thinking of activities to do in Baguio this Christmas break? Take this list with you!

1. Breakfast with a view at Café in the Sky

After the long drive up to Baguio, start your day with a cup of hot coffee and a hearty meal at Café in the Sky in Poblacion Kabuyao, Mt. Santo Tomas. Day or night, this café on a hill got the best spot of Baguio’s scenic view. Witness as the sea of clouds envelopes the town in the break of dawn; or watch the city lights dazzle in the evening.

2. Wander at The Hills at The Manor at Camp John Hay

Take the whole family or barkada with you and drop by The Hills at The Manor at Camp John Hay. The kids and kids-at-heart will surely love the adorable booths. Check out the local goodies for souvenirs and try some of the activities. The Hills is open to public for both in-house guests and walk-ins with regular operating hours from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM. Tickets are available at the gates of the event.

3. Visit the Christmas Village at Baguio Country Club

Baguio Country Club’s Christmas Village sets as an example of having a sustainable, eco-friendly Christmas by using recyclable materials as decorations. This year’s theme is Santa's Garden which showcases a mixture of different fresh and artificial flowers that provides a fresh atmosphere for people to freely roam around. Visitors can enjoy the Snow Fall, Live Musical Entertainment, Nativity Pageant, Wishing Well, and Picture Taking with Santa.

Santa’s Garden is open until January 6, 2019, 2:00-10:00PM from Monday to Thursday, and 10:00 AM – 11:00 PM from Friday to Sunday, including holidays.

  • Baguio Country Club members can visit the Christmas Village for FREE.
  • Non-BCC members – PHP 120 for adults, PHP 50 for children 4-12 years old, PHP 85 for senior citizens, and PWD are FREE of charge.

4. Catch the Christmas Wonderlights Light Show at The Manor

Another most awaited scenery in Baguio every Christmas is the Light Show at The Manor. Enjoy a night of dazzling lights for only PHP 150.00 per person (inclusive of entrance fee at The Hills) until January 2019.

Tickets are being sold on the gates and the Light Show starts at 6:30 PM daily.

5. Enjoy the Snow Show at Le Monet Hotel

Before going to the anticipated light shows at night, drop by Le Monet Hotel first and enjoy the Snow Show! The kids will surely love to play with the bubble foam at Le Monet's Garden. Best of all, admission is FREE! The show starts at 4:00 PM daily from December 1, 2018 to January 1, 2019.

6. Stroll at Burnham Park's Rose Garden

Another free, Instagram-worthy place in Baguio is the Rose Garden at Burnham Park. The park's ever-blooming botanical garden turns into a glowing paradise at night with the addition of Christmas lights and decors. The Burnham Park transforms into a Christmas Wonderland every festive season.

7. Shop at Harrison Road’s Night Market

What’s Christmas without shopping spree? Score fabulous finds at cheapest prices only at Baguio's famous Night Market along Harrison Road. This stretch has been the fashionistas’ haven from pre-loved designer shoes and bags, to stylish clothes and items at around PHP 100 – PHP 500 only! If you're a foodie, this is also the perfect place to try on some local street food favorites.

8. Bonfire and Film Viewing at Le Monet Hotel

Finally, cap the night off with a movie under the stars! Bring out the blankets and watch a film while snuggling up by a bonfire. Experience a romantic evening at Le Monet Hotel's garden in Camp John Hay for only PHP 350 per head with a minimum of 8 persons. This activity is available from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM only.
