The first time in the country that this was held, a Grand Cook-Off happened where the dips that won the votes were cooked live and were judged according to how great the taste and presentation were, the maximum creativity and innovation used, as well as how much and how properly did they use the Lady’s Choice® Real Mayonnaise.
In that regard, the winner in that Grand Cook-Off, out of a group of ten chefs, was Chef Edward Taponan and his creation the Thai Chili Honey Dip. The Thai Chili Honey Dip is made up of flavorful herbs and spices as well as Lady’s Choice® Real Mayonnaise that created this explosion of taste when eaten with fried and grilled meat and vegetables that captivated the judges enough to make him win.
When asked about how he conceptualized his dip, Chef Edward states that: “When I was conceptualizing my dip, I knew I needed to create something that has a good balance of sweet, sour, salty and spicy. It may seem like it’s so easy to think of a simple dip to put together overnight, but it doesn’t work that way. I knew that if I had to infuse all four elements into one dip, it had to be something versatile that will complement not just one kind of protein but can also be replicated into a dressing or marinade for grilling.”
