LoopList: 3 Harry Potter-Themed Restaurants to Floo Powder To
by Lawrence Yap

Hello, Potterheads! Can you feel the lightning in the grass, the chill in the air, the tingle in your spine? That’s because it’s the 20th anniversary of the American release of the book Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, a pivotal book in pop culture and literature that literally changed the world forever.

Spanning seven books, eight movies, and countless spin-offs, the Harry Potter franchise has captured the imaginations of entire generations around the world. And now, with the first book’s 20th anniversary behind us, you can also celebrate it by going to these restos and cafes that try to duplicate and give you the full wizarding-world experience that brings you to nostalgic times where fantasies like butterbeer and being in Hogsmead are allowed to come true.

So, without further ado, let’s give the floor to these restos.

Wizardy Cup Cafe

Any visit to Lipa would not be complete without a visit to this wonderful, Harry Potter-esque cafe that’s enjoyable to kids and adults alike. It’s filled with good food, quality photo opportunities with props, merchandise, and scenes from the movie, as well as the ability to buy your own Harry Potter-themed merchandise like music boxes and chocolate frogs. Overall, because they treat it seriously and not as a gimmick, this is a great place to create wonderful memories of Harry Potter in.

Wizardy Cup Cafe is located at 2F NGC Plaza J. P. Laurel (Ayala) Highway, Lipa, Batangas. They are open 8:00 AM-12:00 AM Monday to Friday, and 9:00 AM-12:00 AM Saturday to Sunday. For more information, visit their Facebook page.

The Witches Brew Diners Philippines

Down in the South is The Witches Brew Diners, the first and, so far, only Game of Thrones x Harry Potter mash-up in the Philippines. There, you’ll find the Iron Throne to take a picture of yourself at, but also a corner for all Harry Potter activities and the like. They also have board games and other wizarding stuff that you can play with, and excellent international food and services for maximization of enjoyment.

The Witches Brew Diners is located at Noah's Place, Aguirre BF Homes, Parañaque. They are open from 12:00PM-9:00 PM, and 12:00 PM-1:00 AM Friday to Saturday. For more information, check out their Facebook page.

The Nook Cafe

Albeit a small cafe, The Nook Cafe is by far the most aesthetic among the three. The ambience itself is beautifully-done, which tries to duplicate places like Harry Potter’s floorboard bedroom and the trains going to Hogwarts, and the drinks itself are delicious. This place is probably where you'll get the most intimate experience with Harry Potter in Manila.

The Nook Cafe is located at 164 A Maginhawa Street, Sikatuna Village, Quezon City. They are open 1:00 PM-10:00 PM. For more information, check out their Facebook page.

Get yourself a butterbeer and let’s toast to 20 years of Harry Potter, and to 20 more to come!
