Celebrities and artists such as Neal Adams, Kevin Grevioux, Michael Copon, Kelly Hu, and Dante Basco, have graced every fan that attended this year’s Toycon. Adams is a legendary comic book artist for DC Comics, specifically Batman, Superman, and Green Arrow. Grevioux is an American actor, screenwriter, and comic book writer, known for his work, the Underworld film series. Copon is an Filipino-American actor known for his portrayal as the blue Time Force Power Ranger and Felix Taggaro in One Tree Hill. Hu is an American actress and former fashion model known for her portrayal of Lady Deathstrike at the movie X-2 (X-Men 2) and Sorceress Cassandra in the movie The Scorpion King. Basco is an American artist of Filipino descent, known for his portrayal of Rufio from the movie Hook, as well as doing the voice of Prince Zuko from Avatar: The Last Airbender. These international celebrities had a meet and greet, as well as a panel interview for the fans to enjoy during Toycon.

Toys and collectibles took the main spotlight of course during this event. Different toy collections of famous cartoons and movies as well as comic book characters were featured at a special gallery hall in the middle of the convention hall. Toy and Action figure collections, such as the Transformers and Marvel comics characters, were featured inside. A special diorama that showed an old-school diner scene featuring special edition Coca-Cola Barbie and Ken dolls were there for everyone to enjoy.

Different artistic sculptures of comic book and movie characters were also showcased in the event. Even our local comic book superheroes like Captain Barbell, Darna, and Lastik Man were featured at the convention hall’s entrance, welcoming everyone to the event.

Musical artists also took the stage during the later part of the event to give all the con-goers the bang for their buck. Apl de Ap, Jessica Reynoso, and Janice Javier performed their hearts out for the fans as the evening of the 2nd night approaches. Hyolyn, from the K-Pop group Sistar, also performed for her fans during the event. Nana Yamada, Kaye Cal, and Kjwan performed as well on the 3rd day of Toycon 2018 as it came to a close.
